A few June Nike SB releases have just hit Blends locations. The new SB’s are highlighted by the Newcastle Dunk SB Low, inspired by the popular brand of beer. In addition, the Asbury Dunk Mid’s and blue/white/red Classics. All three are now available at Blends.

Samples seem to come up every now and now then, but definitely give us something to talk about including the Nike Dunk High Premium seen above. Lacking concrete information, what we can only say about this Dunk High Premium is that it features a black and blue color-way, black on the upper and blue on the mid-sole and bottom of the shoe. Furthermore, a pattern is embossed into the mid-panel, while other highlights include a perforated leather toe box and suede front. Available now in a size 9 via eBay.

A little unusual and isn’t particularly the best looking Dunk High out there, but definitely is something to talk about. Unfortunately, no official information has been released about this particular model, but it should be only a matter time till word gets out. Via Arktz.

While Team USA is hard at work coming off their four-game friendly trip, Nike has created three special designs of the signature shoes of Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant. Included are the Kobe Bryant Hyperdunks, Lebron James Zoom Soldier II PE and Olympia Supreme PE. The sneakers are connected through the mixture of the U.S National Team colors and various Chinese characters. Via hb.

The movie Beautiful Losers will be debut on August 8th at the IFC Center located in New York. Featured is the lives of of various people including hip-hop and graffiti and material relating to skateboarding, surf, and punk.

In honor of the creation of the film, Jesse Leyva of Nike has designed a collection of 22 Dunks each highlight scenes from the movie. An auction will be held soon where two sets of the sneakers will be sold and the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Aid Society. Via Supertouch.

The Nike Hyperdunk has been featured in a few exiciting headlines including the “Marty McFly Hyperdunk” and now a special mock-up for Rice High School has been created. Nike sponsors only the highest ranked basketball teams, including Rice. These special Hyperdunks featrure the team’s colors, black, yellow and forest green. Along with the team’s colors, the Rice name has been branded on the tongue along with Kobe Bryant’s logo. Marquee Sole is has a few select sizes available now.

Minutes ago we reported the Rice High School PE Nike Hyperdunk. Here’s a look at another model that recognizes Kobe Bryant’s McDonalds High School All-American year. The sneaker is made up of patent leather on the toe along with yellow and red accents, representing McDonald’s signature colors. At the front of the shoe, Kobe Bryant’s high school number 33 is embroidered in red. Furthermore, the insoles have the words “All American” written out using a french fry design. Here is the new Nike Beijing Olympics USA Pack that consists of some cool kicks including the Nike Blazer High, Nike Delta Force Low and the Nike Rejuven8. This new sneaker pack will be available on the 8th of August 2008. ¥10,500-¥14,700.

Due to high demand, Nike finally re released the Dunk in 1998, with many special color ways, collaborations, regional releases and more.

The Newest phase is the Nike Dunk SB model, which stands for Skateboarding. A majority of the Lows came with a stuffed tongue, while the Dunk SB Highs did not. Overall the Dunk SB is more stable and a great skateboarding sneaker.

Just after rolling out a few color-ways of the Nike Air Max 90 Current, Nike has already prepared an Artist Edition calling on Kevin Lyons to design a model. This pair consists of mandarin/white-anthracite while adding a inner lining design and on the tongue. A great looking Air Max 90 Current to say the least, the Air Max 90 Current seems to be off to a slow star, but it can be looking up if there are more releases like this. Via Glltn.

Chicago Bulls basketball rookie, Michael Jordan, endorses a line of Nike shoes and apparel. Nike releases the first Air Jordan.

The early part of the 20th century witnessed the birth of many of the familiar sneaker brands, but sneakers stayed the domain of athletes until Hollywood picked up on the fashion, first in the 1930’s and then again in the 1950’s when teen icon, James Dean, was photographed wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers. From then on, these cheap, durable shoes became part of the official uniform of kids around the world. The following timeline will illustrate the technological and cultural history of the sneaker.

1800’s

The first rubber-soled shoes, called plimsolls, were manufactured

1892

Goodyear, then a rubber shoe company and division of the U.S. Rubber Company, begins to manufacture rubber and canvas shoes under different names, finally settling on Keds as the best name.

1908

Marquis M. Converse establishes Converse shoe company, revolutionizing the game of basketball for more than half a century and becoming an American icon.

1917

Keds are the first mass marketed athletic shoes. These shoes are later called sneakers by Henry Nelson McKinney, an advertising agent for N. W. Ayer & Son, because the soles are quiet and make no noise on any surface.

1917

Converse releases the world’s first performance basketball shoe, the Converse All Star.

1920

Adi Dassler, founder of Adidas, begins producing handmade training shoes in his mother’s washroom without electricity

1923

The All Star gives way to the Chuck Taylor All Star, a staple of basketball players, kids, and rebels for more than 50 years. Also known as Chucks, Cons, Connies, these shoes, to date, have sold more than 744 million in 144 countries.

1924

Adi and Rudolph Dassler, with the help of some 50 family members, register their business as Gebr der Dassler Schuhfabrik in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Adidas produces its first tennis shoe.

1935

Converse releases the Jack Purcell with its telltale 揝mile?on the front. They became a staple of early Hollywood and the bad boy crowd, but remained famous longer after the 1930’s badminton/tennis champion, Jack Purcell, had faded into history.

1948

Puma Schuhfabrik Rudolf Dassler is founded and the world is introduced to the PUMA Atom, PUMA’s first football shoe worn by members of the West German football team.

1950’s

Sneakers are the preferred footwear of teenagers and the symbol of rebellion. These cheap and easily obtained shoes are worn by students around the world. In the U.S., cheerleaders wear sweaters, short skirts, and ankle socks with canvas topped shoes (or keds). The fashion is officially sanctioned when James Dean is photographed wearing his Levis jeans and white sneakers.

With all of this discussion regarding next year’s line-up, other news often gets forgotten about, not these two models. Here’s a look at two of the latest Nike Dunk Lows from the Fall ‘08 collection. The two new models feature premium leathers, suede and simple color-ways. Expect to see these being released soon at your local Nike retailer, now available at Proper.
